Ahead of Typhoon Molave, the Vietnamese authorities urged all residences in vulnerable areas, low-lying areas, or within 100m of the beach to evacuate or be evacuated due to imminent threat from what was expected to be one of the most powerful typhoon to hit Vietnam in 20 years.

Living in close proximity to the beach our main focus was securing our home the best we could and finding a safe place to weather the storm. Hence we packed our valuables and check into a familiar hotel with standby generator.

A great place in Danang to weather the storm

We decided on the Hilton Danang, an elegant 5 star resort located on Bach Dang Street, Hai Chau. Excellent view of the Han River, Han River Bridge, Lady Buddha, Son Tra Mountain and neighboring surroundings. Even though the hotel was not at full capacity, we are happy to be safe and well taken care of in a great hotel with friendly staff.
