Due to their tough exterior root vegetables are less delicate hence they can be scrubbed with a soft brush under running water
Remove the leaves if possible, inspect for microbes and dirt then wash and soak in salt water solution ( 1 Tbsp. Salt to 1 Cup Water) for about two minutes. This method is good for greens such as lettuce, spinach etc.
In case of greens like Brussels sprouts just remove outer leaves if damaged and soak in salt water solution for longer (5 minutes)
Strawberries are always presentable and very tempting to bite into without a thought, but the issues with that would be the pesticides that could still be lingering on the outer parts.
Wash strawberries in cold water and vinegar solution (1/2 Cup White Vinegar and 2 Cups Water) Using your hands gentle wash strawberries one at a time then dry them thoroughly. Choose organic strawberries if available
